Color Palettes
Voice × match

Your two voices: what colors do they make?

Each of you talks for 5 seconds. The harmony your pitches make, the balance of your tones and the rhythm of your speech give your match score and your own duo colors.

How it works

From each voice we measure the average pitch (fundamental frequency), the brightness of the tone (spectral centroid) and how much the pitch moves. Pitch sets the hue, brightness the lightness and pitch range the saturation of each voice color. The distance between your two pitches becomes a musical interval, such as a perfect fifth, a major third or an octave, which scores the harmony; tone balance and rhythm complete the match score.

Frequently asked questions

Is my voice recorded or saved?

No. Your voice is analyzed on your device and the recording is never saved or sent. The link you send to a friend only carries colors and numbers.

Pitch harmony counts 50%, tone balance 25% and how similar your speech rhythm is 25%. It is a test for fun.
