What is a voice color?

We often describe voices with color words, like a warm voice, a bright voice or a dark, velvety voice. This test takes that idea literally. Your pitch sets the hue, the brightness of your tone sets how light the color is, and how expressive or breathy your voice is sets how vivid it is. Then it finds the nearest named color.

How it works

From 5 seconds of audio, the tool measures your pitch (fundamental frequency), the brightness of your tone (spectral centroid), the range of your intonation and how breathy your voice is. Lower voices lean toward deep colors like indigo and violet, and higher voices toward light colors like yellow and pink. A brighter tone gives a lighter color, and a more expressive voice gives a more vivid one.

How to enjoy it

Compare your speaking voice with your singing voice, your morning voice with your evening voice, or test friends and family. Save the result image and share it to see how different everyone's voice colors are.

Frequently asked questions

Is my voice recorded or uploaded?

No. Your voice is analyzed in real time on your phone or computer. It is not recorded, saved or sent anywhere.

What if my microphone doesn't work?

Allow microphone access for this site in your browser settings and try again. You can also choose an audio file you have already recorded.

Why does my result change a little each time?

The words you say, how you use your voice and background noise all change your pitch and tone. Try the same phrase a few times and pick the result that feels most like you.
