How the drape test works
Choose a photo of your face, and the tool places a band of color under your chin like a fabric drape. Switch between ready-made sets, such as warm vs cool or the four seasons, or pick any two colors you want to compare. Adjust the size and position so the color sits just below your face.
What to look for
With a flattering color, your skin looks smoother and more even, shadows under your eyes and around your mouth look softer, and your face seems to come forward. With an unflattering color, skin can look sallow, gray or red, and the color seems to stand out more than you do. Look at your whole face, not just the color.
Tips for an accurate comparison
Use a photo taken in natural daylight with no filter and little makeup, and pull your hair away from your face. Compare colors one pair at a time, and save the comparison image so you can look at it again later or ask a friend's opinion.
