What is a Fair Isle pattern?
It is the colorwork knit of classic Christmas and Nordic sweaters: horizontal bands of snowflakes, reindeer, trees and zigzags knitted in two or more yarn colors. It comes from the Shetland Islands in Scotland and is now the most recognizable Christmas pattern.
How to make your sweater
1. Pick your colors: tap a swatch to change it, type a HEX code or start from a Christmas palette. 2. Choose the main motif and the background. 3. Download a phone or desktop wallpaper, a square image or a share image with your colors.
Ways to use it
A festive wallpaper, Christmas cards and party invitations, backgrounds for posts and stories, printed gift wrap, or a color guide to knit your own sweater: each little square is one stitch.
