How it works

The tool is built on 16 eras, one every five years from 1950 to 2025, each with five colors that sum up its look: diners and kitchen pastels, space-age orange, harvest gold, neon arcades, grunge, Y2K chrome, millennial pink, cottagecore. The years in between blend the two nearest eras, so every year from 1950 to 2026 gets its own palette.

Your birth year in color

Type the year you were born and get your palette. Save it as a post or story image to share, or as a phone or desktop wallpaper with no text. It also works for the year you met someone, finished school or moved to a new city.

Using the colors

Each color comes with its HEX code. Tap a color to copy it and use it in Canva, Figma, PowerPoint or any drawing app, for a retro party, a throwback post or a decade-themed design.

Frequently asked questions

What are the colors of the 90s?

Early 90s grunge leans on forest green, oxblood, olive and denim; the late 90s bring teal, beige computer plastic, navy and grape. Pick 1990 or 1995 to see each palette.

Where do the palettes come from?

They are an artistic summary of the look of each era in design, fashion and objects, not official color data. Years between two eras mix both palettes.

Can I download a wallpaper?

Yes. Choose Phone (1170 × 2532) or Desktop (2560 × 1440) and download a PNG with no text, made from the five colors of that year.

Is it free?
