How it works
Pull the string under the ball down with your finger or mouse and the ball pops open. You can also just tap it. Confetti and streamers fall, and a banner rolls down with your message.
Send a message
Pick a message like Congrats!, Happy Birthday! or Thank you!, or write your own. Choose the colors, add your name and send the link. Your friend pulls the string and opens the ball to read your message.
Where it comes from
Balls that split open to drop confetti and a banner are a classic way to celebrate in Japan, where they are called kusudama, and in Korea and Taiwan. They are used at openings, graduations and parties. After it opens, you get a five-color palette you can copy for cards and decorations.
