Light Spring is light in value, warm-leaning in undertone and fairly clear in chroma, so it looks best in fresh, sunny pastels. People in this season usually have low contrast between skin, hair and eyes: light to light-medium skin with a peachy or golden glow, golden blonde to light strawberry or light brown hair, and blue, green or light hazel eyes. Light colors make you look fresh, and warm pastels like peach and aqua brighten your skin. Black and dark jewel tones tend to look heavy on you, and there is little contrast between your hair, skin and eyes. Hold up a peach and a cool pink scarf in daylight; if peach looks better, Light Spring is a good guess.
Both seasons are light first, but Light Spring leans warm and slightly clearer, while Light Summer leans cool and softer. Light Spring shines in peach, warm pink and cream; Light Summer prefers powder blue, lavender and soft white.
Black is usually too heavy and can create shadows on the face. Light navy, warm gray or soft taupe give the same polished effect with less contrast.
Golden blonde, honey, light strawberry blonde and warm light brown are the most flattering. Very dark or cool ash shades often look harsh on this season.
