How to wear terracotta
A terracotta blouse or dress looks great with jeans or white or cream pants. For shoes, brown, camel and beige complete a warm look. Pieces in olive green or petrol blue create stylish contrast. Gold and wooden accessories play up its natural feel.
Terracotta in home decor
In decor, terracotta is perfect for an accent wall, throw pillows, vases and rugs. Pair it with white or cream walls and plenty of light wood. Plants and sage green textiles create a Mediterranean feel. Jute, rattan and handmade ceramics complete the boho look.
Terracotta in graphic and web design
Terracotta works as an accent color for warm, food or handmade brands. White text on it reads well at large sizes; for small text, use dark brown on a cream background.
What to avoid
Keep it away from bright reds or vivid oranges, because they compete and make terracotta look faded. Bubblegum pink doesn't suit it either.
